Question 1

Do you serve all of Southlake?

Accepted Answer

Yes — Timarron, Carillon, Clariden Ranch, Shady Oaks, Stone Lakes, Southridge Lakes, Coventry Manor, Estes Park and the White Chapel corridor, plus nearby Westlake, Trophy Club, Colleyville, Keller, Grapevine and Roanoke.

Question 2

How much mulch does my property need?

Accepted Answer

We measure bed square footage during the estimate and calculate yardage from there. A typical Southlake front yard runs roughly three to six cubic yards.

Question 3

Should old mulch be removed first?

Accepted Answer

Not always. A light layer can be topped, but beds with three or more inches of old buildup need excess removed first, otherwise water sheds off instead of reaching the roots.

Question 4

Does mulch really reduce weeds?

Accepted Answer

Yes, substantially — it blocks the light weed seeds need. It is not absolute, so we offer a pre-emergent application under the mulch for beds that are consistently weedy.

Question 5

When should mulch be installed in North Texas?

Accepted Answer

Late winter through spring is ideal, before summer heat sets in. Fall installations are also common ahead of the holidays or a home sale.

Question 6

Do you install rock instead of mulch?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Decorative rock and river stone are good choices for narrow strips, slopes and areas that wash out, and we install both.
